The job

Remove and replace the engine cooling radiator on a KK Liberty. Plan for about 1.8 hours. Intermediate skill.

Before you start

Engine must be cool. You'll drain and save the coolant if it's clean.
Parts
Radiator — OEM 68033227AA

Coolant (HOAT) — ~12.6 L
Tools
Drain pan & hose pliers
Socket set · torque wrench

△ CAUTION — note the location of all radiator air seals; they must go back in the same spots.
Radiator mounting

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain coolant. Draining ›
  3. Remove the coolant recovery / washer reservoir.
  4. Remove the front grille. Grille ›
  5. Remove the cooling fan (if equipped).
  6. Remove the two radiator mounting bolts. torque ›
  7. Disconnect fan connector and upper & lower hoses.
  8. Lift the radiator out; mind the fins and A/C condenser.
Finish & verify
Reinstall in reverse; seat the dowel pins
Refill with coolant, bleed air
Run to temp, check for leaks
Nice — that's the whole job. Labor guide: 1.8 hr.
Colors are held constant on purpose — the differences here are navigation and hierarchy. A fourth model (a column / master-detail browser for power users) is easy to add if one of these resonates.
