Drive Cable - Installation8 steps
△ CAUTION
Use Mopar (R) Nyogel 729F grease #68038578AA on the drive cables whenever the drive cables are removed from the roof assembly.

It may be necessary to twist the cables while pushing to fully install the cables.

  1. Apply Mopar (R) Nyogel 729F grease #68038578AA to the cables.
  2. Install the front drive cables into their correct positions. (Figure 1)
  3. Install the front drive assembly. Front Drive Assembly - Installation
  4. Re-initialize Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Full Open Retractable Roof REAR DRIVE CABLES
  5. Apply Mopar (R) Nyogel 729F grease #68038578AA to the cables.
  6. Install the rear drive cables into their correct positions. (Figure 1)
  7. Install the rear drive assembly. Rear Drive Assembly - Installation
  8. Re-initialize ECU. Full Open Retractable Roof

  1. Remove the drive cables. Drive Cable - Removal.
  2. Remove the rivets (3) and the motor mounting plate.
  3. Remove the cable retainer (1).
  4. Remove the shims (2).
  5. Using a magnet (3), draw out the remaining rivet pieces through the cable guide openings (1) in the rail (2).

  1. Remove the cover assembly.
  2. Disconnect the tension cable (1) from the hooks (2) of the lift arm (3).
  3. Disconnect the tension cable (3) from the header bows (1) and remove the tension cable from the headliner.

  1. Remove the front drive assembly. Front Drive Assembly - Removal
  2. Slide the cables out and remove. REAR DRIVE CABLES
  3. Remove the rear drive assembly. Rear Drive Assembly - Removal
  4. Slide the cables out and remove.

  1. Install the tension cable (3) into the pocket along the sides of the headliner and attach the cable (3) to the header bows (1).
  2. Attach the tension cable (1) to the hooks (2) of the lift arms (3).
  3. Install the cover assembly.

  1. Install the cable retainer (1) into the rail.
  2. Install the shims (2) into the rail next to the retainer.
  3. Install the motor mounting plate and new rivets (3).
  4. Install the drive cables (2). Drive Cable - Installation.

1. Remove the drive cables, see REMOVAL. 2. Remove the rivets (3) and remove the motor mounting plate. 3. Remove the cable retainer (1).
4. Using a magnet (3) draw out the remaining rivet pieces through the cable guide openings (1) in the rail (2).
