Procedures
Power Seat Switch - Removal
⚠ WARNING
Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the outboard seat cushion side shield (3).
- Using a small flat bladed tool, gently release the four retaining tabs (1) that secure the power seat switch (2) to the seat cushion side shield.
- Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the power seat switch and remove the switch.
Power Seat Switch - Installation

- Connect the electrical connector (4) to the power seat switch (2). Make sure the connector is fully engaged to the switch.
- Position the power seat switch to the seat cushion side shield (3) and engage the four retaining tabs (1) to the side shield. Make sure the retaining tabs are fully engaged.
- Install the seat cushion side shield.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Verify proper power seat operation.
Power Seat Switch: Testing and Inspection






- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the power seat switch from the power seat Power Seat Switch - Removal.
- Use an ohmmeter to test the continuity of the power seat switch. Refer to DRIVER POWER SEAT SWITCH WITHOUT MEMORY SEAT SYSTEM CONTINUITY table. If not OK, replace the faulty power seat switch. If switch tests OK Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures. DRIVER POWER SEAT SWITCH WITHOUT MEMORY SEAT SYSTEM CONTINUITY PASSENGER SEAT
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the power seat switch from the power seat Power Seat Switch - Removal.
- Use an ohmmeter to test the continuity of the power seat switch. Refer to PASSENGER POWER SEAT SWITCH CONTINUITY table. If not OK, replace the faulty power seat switch. If switch tests OK Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures. PASSENGER POWER SEAT SWITCH CONTINUITY DRIVER WITH MEMORY SEAT SYSTEM
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

Power Seat Switch - Description
ℹ NOTE
Driver seat switch shown, passenger seat switch similar.
DESCRIPTION The driver power seat can be adjusted in six different ways and the passenger power seat can be adjusted fore and aft using the power seat switch (1), located on the outboard seat cushion side shield (2). The power seat switch cannot be adjusted or repaired and must be replaced if inoperative or damaged.
Power Seat Switch - Removal
