Camshaft Position Sensor - Removal
ℹ NOTE
The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) is bolted to the front/top of the right cylinder head.
- Disconnect the electrical connector at CMP sensor (3).
- Remove the sensor mounting bolt (2).
- Carefully twist the sensor from the cylinder head (1).
- Check the condition of the sensor O-ring.
Camshaft Position Sensor - Installation
△ CAUTION
Before tightening sensor mounting bolt (2), be sure sensor is completely flush to cylinder head. If sensor is not flush, damage to sensor mounting tang may result.
- Clean out machined hole in cylinder head.
- Apply a small amount of engine oil to sensor o-ring.
- Install sensor (3) into cylinder head with a slight rocking and twisting action.
- Install mounting bolt (2) and tighten to 12 Nm (106 in.lbs).
- Connect electrical connector to sensor.
