  1. Install the seat cover to the seat cushion.
  2. Fold the seat cover back to access the hog ring locations and install new hog rings to the seat cushion and cover.
  3. Install the cover and cushion together to the seat cushion frame.
  4. Secure the front and rear J-straps (2, 4) fully.
  5. Secure the seat cover plastic retaining clips (3) to the seat frame.
  6. Position the front floor bracket assembly (1) onto the seat cushion assembly and install the bolts (2).
  7. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (88.5 in. lbs.).
  8. Seat the cable housing (1) fully.
  9. Secure the seat cushion cover clips (1).
  10. Position the 60 seat to the seat back frame.
  11. Install the seat bolt (2) to the floor bracket (1) and seat frame on the left side of the 60 seat and tighten to 27.5 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
  12. Install the 60 seat pivot bolt (2) to the floor bracket (1) and seat frame and tighten to 27.5 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
  13. Install the 40 seat cushion (1), refer to 60/40 Seat Cushion - 40. 60/40 Seat Cushion - 40
  14. Install the seat cover to the seat cushion frame.
  15. Fold the seat cover back to access the hog ring locations and install new hog rings to the seat cushion and cover.
  16. Install the cover and cushion together to the seat frame.
  17. Secure the front and rear J-straps (2) fully.
  18. Secure the seat cover plastic retaining clips (1) to the seat frame.
  19. Install the seat cushion assembly (1) onto the pivot bolt and twist assembly down into the floor brackets fully.
  20. Install the seat bolt (1) to the floor bracket (2) on the right side of the 40 seat and tighten to 27.5 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
  21. Connect the cable housing (1).
  22. Secure the seat cushion cover clips (1).
  23. Install the front bracket legs (2) onto the cushion assembly and install the bolts (1).
  24. Tighten the bolts (1) to 10 Nm (88.5 in. lbs.).
  25. Connect the cable.
  26. Install the 60/40 rear seat. Rear Seat - Installation

Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions
ℹ NOTE
It is important that the foam be fully seated on the frame so a leather bubble does not appear. Pull rearward on the wire embedded in the rear of the foam to assist in locating the foam correctly.

  1. Install the seat cushion heating element (3), if equipped. Heater Pad - Installation
  2. Install the seat cover to the seat cushion.
  3. Install new front hog rings (1).
  4. Install new side hog rings (2).
  5. Wrap the cover (1) around the rear side facing and attach the hook and loop fasteners on the cover to the fastener that is molded into the side of the foam cushion (2) and seat fully.
  6. Insert the cushion assembly (1) fully into the biteline (2) of the seat.
  7. Connect the electrical connectors, if equipped.
  8. Secure the front and back J-straps (1) fully.
  9. Tuck the edges of the cover under the collar on the side shields in back.
  10. Secure the side J-straps fully.

Relieve the tension on the cable by positioning the seat correctly. Failure to relieve tension will result in damage to the cable.

  1. Remove the 60/40 rear seat from the vehicle and place on a clean work bench, Rear Seat - Removal.
  2. Remove the seat bolt (1) from the floor bracket (2).
  3. Disconnect the cable.
  4. Remove the front bracket to the cushion bolts (1) to separate the forward legs to the cushion.
  5. Separate the seat cushion cover (1) and expose the recliner cable.
  6. Disconnect the cable housing (1).
  7. Remove the seat cushion assembly (1) from the pivot bolt on the floor bracket.
  8. Separate the seat cover plastic retaining clips (1, 2) from the seat frame.
  9. Remove the cover and cushion together from the seat frame.
  10. Fold the seat cover back to expose the hog rings, cut and remove all hog rings.
  11. Remove the seat cover from the seat cushion. 60/40 Seat Cushion - 60
  12. Remove the 40 seat cushion (1), refer to 60/40 Seat Cushion - 40.
  13. Remove the pivot bolt (2) from the floor bracket (1).
  14. Remove the seat bolt (2) from the floor bracket (1) on the left side of the 60 seat.
  15. Remove the 60 seat from the seat back frame.
  16. Release the seat cushion cover clips (1) from the seat cushion frame and expose the recliner cable.
  17. Disconnect the cable housing (1).
  18. Remove the front bracket to the cushion bolts (2) to separate the forward legs (1) to the cushion.
  19. Remove the seat cushion assembly from the floor brackets.
  20. Separate the remaining seat cover plastic retaining clips (3) from the seat frame.
  21. Separate the J-straps (2, 4) from the seat cushion frame.
  22. Remove the cover and cushion together from the seat frame.
  23. Fold the seat cover back to expose the hog rings, cut and remove all hog rings.
  24. Remove the seat cover from the seat cushion.

  1. Remove the side shields. Seat Cushion Side Shields - Removal
  2. Release the J-straps (1) securing the seat cushion assembly to the seat cushion frame.
  3. Lift the seat cushion assembly (1) up in the front and disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped.
  4. Remove the seat cushion assembly.
  5. Release the hook and loop strips (2) and fold the cover (1) up to expose the hog ring fasteners.
  6. Cut and remove all hog rings (1 and 2).
  7. Remove the seat cover from the seat cushion.
  8. Remove the seat cushion heating element (3), if equipped.Heater Pad - Removal

NUMBER: 31-004-11 GROUP: Collision Bulletin DATE: November 10, 2011 SUBJECT: Replacement Seat Covers And Seat Cover Repairs OVERVIEW: This bulletin involves Chrysler Group LLC position in regard to replacement seat covers and seat cover repairs. DISCUSSION: Chrysler Group LLC vehicles, systems and components are engineered, tested and manufactured to help protect vehicle occupants based upon government mandated and internal corporate requirements relative to durability, noise vibration & harshness, occupant protection, and vehicle safety. Supplemental Seat-Mounted Side Air Bags provide enhanced protection to help protect an occupant during a side impact. When the seat-mounted side air bag deploys, it opens the seam between the front and side of the seat's trim cover. Modifications to the seat system, including the seat cover, may change the way the air bag deploys, which could adversely affect the performance of the Supplemental Seat-Mounted Side Air Bag causing serious injury. "Modifications include: ^Any change to the seat back cover such as material, thread, stitch design, and alterations or misplacement of the features which guide the deploying air bag into position. ^Any non-approved seat-cover replacements. Only Authentic Mopar(R) Repair Parts, and approved Mopar(R) accessories such as Katzkin(R) Leather seat covers, are designed, engineered, manufactured and tested to the Chrysler Group LLC internal and government mandated standards. The use of parts not specifically designed and tested by Chrysler Group LLC may compromise the integral balance between these safety systems. Chrysler Group LLC only approves of repairs or modifications to the supplemental seat-mounted side air bag system, including the seat system or seat cover, where Authentic Mopar Repair Parts or Mopar Accessories are used for Chrysler, Jeep(R), Dodge and Ram vehicles.
