Seat Cushion Side Shields - Removal
△ CAUTION
Use care not to break the inner side shield hoop. If the hoop breaks, the inner side shield must be replaced to ensure retention once the anchor cover is re-installed.△ CAUTION
Do not lift up the edge of the anchor cover when removing. Pull in a straight direction normal to the surface.△ CAUTION

- Release the front edge of the anchor cover (1) by pushing out from the inside.
- Pull the bottom tab (3) out of the side shield keeping the upper arrow clip (2) still secured.
- Using a small flat bladed tool (2) or equivalent, release the arrow clip by pressing down on the lower edge of the inner side shield hoop (1) and pulling carefully on the anchor cover. Vehicles built after 12/2008
- Using a hook type tool or fingers, place them into the slot (1) next to the arrow clip (2) and pull the shield straight out. Manual Seats
- Insert a small flat bladed tool (1) or equivalent, between the seat cushion and the side cover to release the recliner handle (2).
- Slide the retaining clip (1) to the rear of the vehicle and remove the handle (2) from the recliner shaft.
- Remove the two screws from the rear of the side shield.
- Remove the seat belt anchor cover (4).
- Remove the seat belt anchor bolt (2) and separate the belt (3) from the seat.
- Remove the two screws from the seat belt anchor cavity.
- Using a small flat bladed tool (1) or equivalent, release the arrow clips on either side of the anchor cavity by pressing down on the lower edge of the inner side shield hoop (2) and pulling carefully on the side shield.
- Using a flat bladed trim tool or equivalent, separate the upper clips (1) from the seat cushion frame and release the rear support hook (2) from the support wire (3).
- Lift the rear of the shield (1) toward the front of the vehicle off of the support wire (2).
- Release the corner support (1) then the front support hook (3) from the support wire.
- Using a small flat bladed tool, release the clip barbs securing the clips to the side shield tabs and discard the clips. Power Seats Driver Side
- Insert a small flat bladed tool (1) or equivalent, between the seat cushion and the side cover to release the recliner handle (2).
- Slide the retaining clip (1) to the rear of the vehicle and remove the handle (2) from the recliner shaft.
- Locate the lower front retaining clip (1).
- Pry out the barbs (3) with a small flat bladed tool or equivalent then using pliers, break the barbs off the clip (1).
- Release the front upper hoop from the bracket tab (1).
- Locate the lower rear retaining clip.
- Pry out the barbs with a small flat bladed tool or equivalent then using pliers, break the barbs off the clip.
- Release the retaining tabs (2), separate the power seat switch (1) and position aside.
- Using a flat bladed trim tool or equivalent, separate the upper clip (1) from the seat cushion frame (2).
- Twist the front of the side shield (1) up and separate from the recliner shield (1).
- Using a small flat bladed tool, release the clip barbs securing the clips to the side shield tabs and discard the clips.
- Remove the two screws from the seat belt anchor cavity.
- Slide the rear shield (2) rearwards and release the forward facing tongue (1) from the front shield.
- Remove the rear shield (2). Passenger Side
- Insert a small flat bladed tool (1) or equivalent, between the seat cushion and the side cover to release the recliner handle (2).
- Slide the retaining clip (1) to the rear of the vehicle and remove the handle (2) from the recliner shaft.
- Remove the two screws from the rear of the side shield.
- Remove the seat belt anchor cover (4).
- Remove the seat belt anchor bolt (2) and separate the belt (3) from the seat.
- Remove the two screws from the seat belt anchor cavity.
- Using a small flat bladed tool (1) or equivalent, release the arrow clips on either side of the anchor cavity by pressing down on the lower edge of the inner side shield hoop (2) and pulling carefully on the side shield.
- Locate the lower front retaining clip.
- Pry out the barbs (3) with a small flat bladed tool or equivalent then using pliers, break the barbs off the clip (1).
- Release the front upper hoop from the bracket tab (1).
- Locate the lower rear retaining clip.
- Pry out the barbs (3) with a small flat bladed tool or equivalent then using pliers, break the barbs off the clip (1).
- Separate the power seat switch and position aside.
- Using a flat bladed trim tool or equivalent, separate the upper clip from the seat cushion frame.
- Using a small flat bladed tool, release the clip barbs securing the clips (1) to the side shield tabs (2) and discard the clips. Upper Fold Flat Shield
- Using a flat bladed trim tool or equivalent, separate the retaining clip (1) from the seat back recliner frame.
- Slide the shield forward until the side hook (1) and alignment pin (2) are released and remove the side shield.

- Position the anchor cover (1) back onto the side cover and secure the lower tabs (3).
- Position the upper arrow clip (2) in place and seat fully. Manual Seats
- Install new retaining clips onto the side shield.
- Secure the front support hook (3) to the support wire and then position the corner support over the upper corner of the wire loop.
- Rotate the back of the shield (1) down over the support wire (2) and engage the corner support to the support wire.
- Secure the lower rear support hook (2) to the support wire (3) and seat the upper clips (1) fully into the seat cushion frame.
- Seat the arrow clips (2) into the inner shield hoops fully.
- Install the screws.
- Install the two screws at the rear of the side shield.
- Install the seat belt anchor (3) and install the anchor bolt (2).
- Tighten the bolt (2) to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).
- Position the anchor cover (1) back onto the side cover and secure the lower tabs (3).
- Position the upper arrow clip (2) in place and seat fully.
- Make sure the retaining clip is seated onto the recliner handle and seat the handle (2) onto the recliner shaft fully. Power Seats Driver Side
- Position the rear side shield into place and install the screws.
- Install new retaining clips (1) onto the side shield tabs (2).
- Position the front side shield (1) over the recliner shaft and insert the tongue on the front shield into the slot on the rear shield (2).
- Seat the upper clip (1) to the seat cushion frame (2) fully.
- Position the power seat switch (1) back into the seat side shield and seat the retaining tabs (2) fully.
- Locate the lower rear retaining clip and seat into the seat cushion frame fully.
- Secure the front upper hoop (1) to the tab on the seat cushion frame.
- Locate the lower front retaining clip and seat into the seat cushion frame fully.
- Make sure the retaining clip is seated onto the recliner handle and seat the handle (2) onto the recliner shaft fully. Passenger Side
- Install new retaining clips (1) onto the side shield tabs (2).
- Seat the upper clip (1) to the seat cushion frame (2) fully.
- Position the power seat switch (1) back into the seat side shield and seat the retaining tabs (2) fully.
- Locate the lower rear retaining clip and seat into the seat cushion frame fully.
- Secure the front upper hoop (1) to the tab on the seat cushion frame.
- Locate the lower front retaining clip and seat into the seat cushion frame fully.
- Seat the arrow clips (2) into the inner shield hoops fully.
- Install the screws.
- Install the two screws at the rear of the side shield.
- Install the seat belt anchor (3) and install the anchor bolt (2).
- Tighten the bolt (2) to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs.).
- Position the anchor cover (1) back onto the side cover and secure the lower tabs (3).
- Position the upper arrow clip (2) in place and seat fully.
- Make sure the retaining clip is seated onto the recliner handle and seat the handle (2) onto the recliner shaft fully. Upper Fold Flat Shield
- Slide the shield rearward until the side hook (1) is positioned behind the seat back hinge and the alignment pin (2) is positioned in the hole until fully seated.
- Line up the the shield retaining clip to the slot in the seat back hinge (1) and seat fully.

SEAT CUSHION - FRONT
WARNING: Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions. See WARNING.
1. Remove the passenger or drivers front seat, see REMOVAL. 2. Remove the seat weight sensors if equipped, passenger seat only, refer to REMOVAL .
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the occupant classification module, refer to
Removal

Remove the electrical harness connectors from the OCS mounting plate.
5
Remove the electrical connectors for both the heated seat back and seat elements.
6
Remove the recliner handle.
7
Remove the two screws from the side of the outer seat trim.
8
Remove the two screws from the rear of the outer seat trim and remove the trim panel.
9
Remove the seat position sensor.
CAUTION
The Heated Seat Module mounting tab can be damaged during module removal and installation. Use care to properly align tab to prevent binding that could result in tab breakage.10
Position the right front seat to the full rearward position.

Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

Disconnect the wire harness connector (4) from the heated seat module (3).

Unsnap the heated seat module retaining tab (2) from the seat pan (1).
14
Remove the heated seat module (3) from the vehicle.
15
Remove the three nuts and remove the left seat track.
16
Remove the three nuts and remove the right seat track.
17
Remove the electrical harness from the seat bottom.
18
Remove the recliner cable from the left and right side of the seat.
19
Remove the two seat frame bolts from the left and right side of the seat.
20
Separate the seat bottom and the seat back.
Disassembly

Remove the seat cushion section from the front seat assembly, see REMOVAL.

Remove the seat cover plastic retaining clips from the seat frame.
3
Remove the cover and cushion together from the seat frame.
4
Fold the seat cover back to expose the hog rings, cut and remove all hog rings.
5
Remove the seat cover from the seat cushion.
Assembly
WARNING: Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions. See WARNING.

Install the seat cover to the seat cushion.
2
Fold the seat cover back to access the hog ring locations and install new hog rings to the seat cushion and
cover.
3
Install the cover and cushion together to the seat frame.
4
Install the seat cover plastic retaining clips to the seat frame.
5
Install the seat cushion section to the front seat assembly, see INSTALLATION.









SEAT CUSHION - FRONT
WARNING: Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions. See WARNING.
1. Install the seat bottom to the seat back frame. 2. Install the two seat frame bolts to the left and right side of the seat and tighten to 47.5 N.m (35 ft. lbs.)
3. Install the recliner cable to the left and right side of the seat if equipped, passenger side only. 4. Install the electrical harness to the seat bottom. 5. Install the right and left seat tracks to the seat frame and tighten the nuts to 27.5 N.m (20 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: The Heated Seat Module mounting tab can be damaged during module removal and installation. Use care to properly align tab to prevent binding that could result in tab breakage.
6. Install the heated seat module (3) into the vehicle. 7. Position the retaining tab (2) with the mounting hole in the seat pan (1). Firmly apply even pressure to the module (3) until the mounting tab is fully seated. 8. Connect the wire harness connector (4) to the heated seat module (3).
9. Install the seat position sensor. 10. Install the two screws to the side of the outer seat trim.
11. Install the two screws to the rear of the outer seat trim. 12. Install the recliner handle.
13. Install the electrical connectors for both the heated seat back and seat elements.
14. Install the electrical harness connectors to the OCS mounting plate.
15. Install the occupant classification module and connect the electrical connectors if equipped, passenger side only, refer to INSTALLATION .
16. Install the seat weight sensors if equipped, passenger seat only, refer to INSTALLATION .
17. Install the passenger or drivers front seat, see INSTALLATION.









SEAT CUSHION - REAR
60/40 Split Seat - 40
CAUTION: Relieve the tension on the cable by positioning the seat correctly. Failure to relieve tension will result in damage to the cable.
1. Remove the 60/40 rear seat from the vehicle and place on a clean work bench, see REMOVAL. 2. Remove the seat bolt (1) from the floor bracket (2). 3. Disconnect the cable. 4. Remove the front bracket to the cushion bolts to separate the forward legs to the cushion. 5. Disconnect the cable housing.
6. Remove the seat assembly from the pivot bolt (1) on the floor bracket (2).
60/40 Split Seat - 60
CAUTION: Relieve the tension on the cable by positioning the seat correctly. Failure to relieve tension will result in damage to the cable.
1. Remove the seat bolt (1) from the floor bracket (2) on the right side of the 40 seat. 2. Disconnect the cable. 3. Remove the 40 seat from the pivot bolt.
4. Remove the pivot bolt (1) from the floor bracket (2). 5. Disconnect the cable.
6. Remove the seat bolt (2) from the floor bracket (1) on the left side of the 60 seat.
7. Remove the 60 seat from the seat back frame.
Disassembly
60/40 Split Seat - 40
1
Remove the 40 seat cushion section from the rear seat assembly, see REMOVAL.
2
Remove the seat cover plastic retaining clips from the seat frame.
3
Remove the cover and cushion together from the seat frame.
4
Fold the seat cover back to expose the hog rings, cut and remove all hog rings.

Remove the seat cover from the seat cushion.

SEAT CUSHION - REAR
60/40 Split Seat - 60
1. Position the 60 seat to the seat back frame. 2. Install the seat bolt (2) to the floor bracket (1) and seat frame on the left side of the 60 seat and tighten to 27.5 N.m (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the 60 seat pivot bolt (1) to the floor bracket (2) and seat frame and tighten to 27.5 N.m (20 ft. lbs.). 4. Attach the cable to the seat back frame and to the seat riser.
5. Install the 40 seat onto the pivot bolt.
6. Install the seat bolt (1) to the floor bracket (2) on the right side of the 40 seat and tighten to 27.5 N.m (20 ft. lbs.). 7. Attach the cable to the seat back frame and to the seat riser.
60/40 Split Seat - 40
1. Install the seat pivot bolt (1) to the floor bracket (2) and tighten to 27.5 N.m (20 ft. lbs.). 2. Install the seat onto the pivot bolt.
3. Install the seat bolt (1) to the floor bracket (2) on the right side of the 40 seat and tighten to 27.5 N.m (20 ft. lbs.). 4. Attach the cable to the seat back frame and to the seat riser.
